Moderation Policy
SiteSkills is committed to maintaining a safe, trustworthy, and high-quality marketplace for AI browser agent skills. This moderation policy outlines how we review content, handle reports, and enforce our standards.
Content Moderation Overview
Every skill published on SiteSkills passes through multiple layers of review before reaching users. Our moderation system combines automated scanning, community reporting, human review, and a formal appeals process to ensure fairness and safety across the platform.
We moderate skills, reviews, creator profiles, and any other user-generated content on SiteSkills. Our goal is to protect users from harmful content while giving creators the freedom to build and share useful tools.
4-Tier Moderation System
SiteSkills uses a layered approach to content moderation:
Tier 1: Auto-Scan
Every skill submission is automatically analysed by our AI-powered security scanner before publication. The scanner checks for malicious instructions, credential theft patterns, data exfiltration, prompt injection, and other harmful content. Depending on the results, skills are either approved, auto-rejected, or flagged for human review — all in real time.
Tier 2: Community Reports
Users can flag problematic skills directly from the marketplace. Community reports are placed in a moderation queue and reviewed by an admin within 24 hours. This tier relies on the SiteSkills community to surface issues that automated scanning may miss.
Tier 3: Admin Review
A human administrator reviews all flagged or ambiguous content. Admins have access to the full skill definition, the scanner's analysis report, and any community reports. Decisions are made within 48 hours and may include approving the content, issuing a warning, suspending the skill, or banning the account.
Tier 4: Appeals
Creators who disagree with a moderation decision can file an appeal. Appeals are reviewed by a different administrator than the one who made the original decision, ensuring impartiality. Appeal decisions are issued within 7 days.
Report Reasons
When reporting a skill, users select from the following categories:
| Reason | Description |
|---|---|
| Malicious | Skill contains harmful instructions such as credential theft, data exfiltration, or other security threats |
| Broken | Skill does not work as described |
| Inaccurate | The skill's description does not match its actual behaviour |
| Spam | Low-quality, duplicate, or mass-generated content |
| Copyright | Skill infringes on someone else's intellectual property |
| Inappropriate | Offensive content, harassment, hate speech, or other unsuitable material |
Escalation Path
When a report is received, it follows this escalation process:
Report received
|
Admin reviews report + skill + scan report
|
+-- Dismiss (no action, report marked "reviewed")
+-- Warning (email to creator with specific concern)
+-- Suspend skill (removed from marketplace, creator notified)
+-- Suspend account (all skills removed, 30-day ban)
+-- Ban account (permanent removal, all skills taken down)
|
Creator can appeal within 14 days
|
Appeal reviewed by a different admin
|
+-- Upheld (original action stands)
+-- Reversed (skill or account restored)All actions are logged and the creator is notified at every stage. We do not take moderation actions without informing the affected user.
Appeals Process
If you believe a moderation decision was made in error, you have the right to appeal:
- Window: You must file your appeal within 14 days of the original moderation action.
- How to appeal: Use the appeal link in the moderation notification email, or contact support@siteskills.ai.
- Impartial review: Your appeal will be reviewed by a different administrator than the one who made the original decision.
- Timeline: Appeal decisions are issued within 7 days.
- Outcomes: The original decision may be upheld (action stands) or reversed (skill/account restored).
- Final: Appeal decisions are final. If new evidence comes to light, you may contact support for reconsideration.
Prohibited Content
The following types of content are prohibited on SiteSkills, regardless of how they are submitted:
- Skills designed to harass, stalk, or doxx individuals
- Skills targeting children or containing child-related harmful content
- Skills facilitating illegal activities such as fraud or identity theft
- Skills containing hate speech or discriminatory content
- Skills designed to manipulate elections or spread disinformation
- Skills that impersonate other companies or individuals
- Mass-generated low-quality skills (spam flooding the marketplace)
- Skills containing malware, credential theft, prompt injection, or data exfiltration instructions
Content that falls into these categories will be removed immediately and may result in account suspension or a permanent ban.
Marketplace Integrity
We take active measures to protect the integrity of the SiteSkills marketplace.
Review Manipulation Prevention
- One review per user per skill, enforced at the database level
- Review bombing detection: If more than 5 negative reviews are submitted for a single skill within 1 hour, the skill is automatically flagged for admin review
- Minimum activity required: Users must have at least 1 download to leave a review
- No incentivised reviews: Offering compensation for reviews is a violation of our Terms of Service
Skill Fraud Prevention
- Deduplication: SHA-256 hash checking prevents re-uploading identical content
- Near-duplicate detection: Our AI scanner identifies skills that are substantially similar to existing ones
- Rate limiting: Creators are limited to 10 skill uploads per hour
- New creator probation: The first 3 skills from any new creator require manual review, regardless of the scanner score
Account Abuse Prevention
- Email verification is required for all accounts
- Rate limiting is applied to all API endpoints
- Multi-account detection: IP-based abuse detection identifies multiple accounts from the same source
- API key monitoring: Abnormal usage patterns are flagged and investigated
Transparency Commitment
SiteSkills is committed to transparent moderation practices:
- Quarterly transparency reports: We publish reports detailing the number of reports received, actions taken, and appeals resolved.
- No shadow bans: Users are always notified when any action is taken against their content or account. We do not silently suppress or hide content.
- Published policies: This moderation policy, our Terms of Service, and our Privacy Policy are publicly available at all times.
- Clear communication: Every moderation action includes a specific explanation of the reason and the relevant policy.
